Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

 Author Guidelines – Open AI Journal: An International Journal for AI in Education

We welcome high-quality submissions that contribute to advancing knowledge, theory, and practice in the field of Artificial Intelligence in Education. Authors are kindly requested to follow the guidelines below to ensure consistency, academic rigor, and smooth processing of their manuscripts.

1. Manuscript Preparation

  • Language: Submissions must be in clear, concise English.

  • Length: Articles should typically range between 5000–8,000 words for long articles (excluding references). Short communications, case studies, and reviews may be shorter, about 1200 words or higher.

  • Formatting:

    • Font: Times New Roman, size 12, double-spaced.

    • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides.

    • Headings: Use a maximum of three levels (e.g., Heading 1, Heading 2, Heading 3).

    • Page numbers: Bottom-right corner.

  • Structure:

    • Title Page (title, author(s), affiliation, ORCID, contact email)

    • Abstract (150–250 words) with 4–6 keywords

    • Introduction

    • Literature Review / Theoretical Framework

    • Methodology

    • Results / Findings

    • Discussion

    • Conclusion and Implications

    • References (APA 7th edition)

2. Referencing & Citation Style

  • Authors must follow the APA 7th Edition referencing style.

  • In-text citations: (Author, Year) format. Example: (Smith, 2023).

  • Direct quotations: Include page numbers. Example: (Brown, 2022, p. 45).

  • Multiple authors: Up to three authors list all; more than three, list first author followed by et al..

3. Submission Process

  • Manuscripts must be submitted through the journal’s OJS platform.

  • Only original, unpublished work will be considered.

  • Authors must ensure the manuscript is free from plagiarism (similarity index below 15%).

  • Each submission will undergo a double-blind peer review process.

4. Ethical Standards

  • Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest.

  • Research involving human participants must follow ethical guidelines and include informed consent.

  • AI-generated content should be clearly acknowledged and used responsibly.

5. Review & Publication

  • Initial editorial screening → Double-blind peer review → Revision process → Final acceptance.

  • Accepted papers will be published online open-access under a Creative Commons license.
